At 1st Way Life Center, we provide free pregnancy ultrasounds to help you better understand your pregnancy and what comes next. A free pregnancy test is required before your ultrasound appointment. Before Your Appointment

To help our ultrasound technician obtain the clearest images possible, please arrive with a full bladder. One hour before your appointment, drink at least four 8-ounce glasses of liquid, for a total of 32 ounces or one quart. Please avoid soda and other caffeinated drinks, as caffeine may cause bladder contractions.

Please also bring the date of your last menstrual period and any questions or concerns you would like to discuss with our team.

What to Expect During Your Ultrasound

During your appointment, our ultrasound technician will apply warm gel to your abdomen. A small handheld device called a transducer will then be moved gently across your belly. The transducer uses sound waves to create images that can be viewed on a monitor. The process is painless, and a picture may be available for you to take home.

It may help determine whether the pregnancy is developing, how far along the pregnancy may be, and whether the pregnancy is located in the uterus.
